Know About Stroke and How to Manage It

Stroke is the medical condition in which a part of the brain loses its functionality. Stroke occurs mainly because of a disruption in the supply of blood to the brain. The blood supply would either be completely stopped due to thickening or hardening of the walls of the vessels or a vessel supplying the blood could rupture and thereby disrupting the blood flow to the brain. The former is known as atherosclerosis and the latter is hemorrhage.

Then there is another kind of stroke known as Transient Ischemic Attack, often known as mini-stroke. But, it could be more rightly termed as a warning stroke. This is believed to occur when there is a block to the flow of blood to the brain or when there is a clot formed in the path of the blood to the brain. The only difference between a TIA and a stroke is that the former is transient or temporary.
